What Tintly reads, what it keeps and what it sends. The short answer is that it collects nothing and sends nothing.

What Tintly reads

Tintly reads the style sheets, the colors and the pictures of the pages you open, so it can change their colors. It does not read what you type, your forms, your cookies or your history.

What Tintly keeps

Your settings, site rules, presets and fixes are kept in your browser. If you turn on sync, your browser copies them through your own account. The language of the pages stays on this computer. Tintly also keeps the time it was installed on this computer, to fill the survey address below.

What Tintly sends

Tintly sends nothing about you, and it has no analytics and no account. The only requests it makes are to download a style sheet or a picture of the page you are on, when the browser does not let the page code read it. It asks for no address that the page did not already use, and it sends no cookies with the request.

Pages on enaloo.com

After a fresh install, Tintly opens a welcome page on enaloo.com once, in a tab behind the one you are on. When you remove Tintly, the browser opens a short survey page. In About, the links Report a problem and Suggest a feature open a feedback page. About is in the menu of the toolbar window and in the settings. Support Tintly opens the support page on enaloo.com, and Help and guides opens the guides. Their addresses carry no values.

The addresses of these pages carry a few short values and nothing else:

PageWhat the address carries
WelcomeThe Tintly version, the language and the browser
Survey after removalThe Tintly version, the language, the browser and its version, the system (such as win or mac) and how long ago Tintly was installed, in rough steps
Report a problemThe Tintly version, the browser and its version
Suggest a featureThe Tintly version
What the enaloo.com addresses carry

Tintly sends nothing to these pages itself. The browser opens them like any other link.

Permissions

PermissionWhy
StorageTo keep your settings
ScriptingTo add the color engine to the pages you open, and to put it into the tabs that are already open when you install or update Tintly or turn a site on
Access to all sitesTo color the pages you open
Context menu, optionalTo show the menu item, only if you turn it on
Alarms, optionalTo switch pages on and off at the times of your schedule, without loading anything on pages that are off. Only if you allow it
Permissions

In Firefox the context menu permission is called menus. Firefox cannot ask for it or for the alarms permission later, so Tintly has both from the start. Neither adds a warning at install. Tintly shows the menu item only if you turn it on, and it sets alarms only when you use a schedule by hours or by sunset and sunrise.

Delete your data

Choose Reset all settings in Settings, Backup and data, or remove the extension. Both remove the settings that Tintly keeps in your browser.

Pages the extension opens

When you install or remove the extension, your browser may open an optional page: a welcome page after the install, and a short survey after the removal.

  • The extension itself collects nothing.
  • The survey collects only what you type and choose, plus a few coarse details from the link: the version of the extension, its language, the browser and its version, the system, and how long you had it, in rough groups. The welcome page collects nothing.
  • Neither page has tracking or cookies, and neither loads a third-party script. The optional chat button sends nothing until you ask a question. The survey does not store your IP address, your user agent or any identifier. Opening either page adds one to a daily count (by extension version, browser and system); the count holds no address and no identifier.
